LAST LIGHT
Film Photography — Ossabaw Dusk
// on this work //
No artificial light reaches Ossabaw after dark. What remains is this — the last warmth above a black horizon, clouds moving freely in sky that has never been interrupted. The island teaches what darkness actually is. Composers Aaron Copland and Samuel Barber both worked on this island. It is easy to understand why. This sky produces music. The silhouette of the marsh at this exact transition between day and night is the island's most private moment.
