GOLDEN HOUR
Film Photography — Ossabaw Sound Side
// on this work //
Late afternoon on the sound side. The light is so particular it feels like a claim being made — this hour belongs to this place and no other. The Spanish moss catches it differently than the saw palmetto. The fallen log in the foreground has been here long enough to become part of the topography. Nothing on this island is placed; everything is deposited. The water visible through the trees is the Back River, which separates Ossabaw from the mainland. It is narrow. It is the entire distance between this world and the other one.
