THE FALLEN
Film Photography — Ossabaw Beach
// on this work //
At low tide the island reveals what it has claimed — a great tree bleached and salt-scoured, reduced to pure form against the tidal flat. Nothing here is wasted. The island takes, and in taking, makes something truer than what was. The oyster shells crusting the base are the island's signature: everything that lands here eventually belongs to the marsh. No removal. No improvement. Just the long work of water and salt.
